After all, it’s better to be happy with someone not your own age than be miserable with someone who is more age-appropriate for you. Who sets the standards anyway? Older men almost always go for girls half their age, and yet tend to judge women who do the same.

Another rational reason that justifies women dating younger men is the fact that older women already know better. They have met all the jerks, despite following the traditional way of meeting men. When she reaches that age, where she may have already grown tired of getting her heart broken over and over, it is only right she gives her heart and herself a break. At her age, she already knows what she wants and she deserves to get it, like the way men do. She should not care about what society dictates as to what age of a man she should be with. If she chooses to be with someone younger, then there must be a reason why the man sticks with her. It’s not only because she’s a “cougar” or she’s hot. It’s also because older women are smarter and more empowered.

The most valid of all reasons is love. Love does not choose a certain age requirement. If love happens to a couple with a younger man and an older woman, then so be it. Both deserve to give it a try.
